We started ModernBilt because homeowners deserve a better construction experience.
Most people who’ve been through a residential construction project a new home, a major remodel, an addition will tell you the same things. The communication was inconsistent. The timeline shifted without explanation. Decisions were made without proper consultation. The finished product was close to what was agreed, but not quite.
We’re engineers. We’ve spent our careers in environments where those outcomes aren’t acceptable where you plan before you execute, document what you commit to, and communicate status without being asked. We built ModernBilt to bring that standard to residential construction in Murfreesboro, Lebanon, and the surrounding communities where we live.
Meet the founders

Throughout his career, he has led complex projects in fast-paced environments, building expertise in planning, budgeting, coordination, risk management, and execution.
Before co-founding ModernBilt, Logan served as a Director for a major manufacturing organization, leading large-scale projects and cross-functional teams while driving operational excellence.

WHAT AN ENGINEERING BACKGROUND MEANS FOR YOUR PROJECT, IN PRACTICAL TERMS
There’s a specific kind of discipline that engineering careers build — not just technical knowledge, but a structured way of approaching problems, communicating under pressure, and managing complexity across multiple stakeholders.
That discipline is exactly what residential construction projects require and, too often, rarely receive.
At ModernBilt, we apply the same principles that govern complex engineering and project environments to every residential project we undertake. The goal is simple: reduce uncertainty, improve communication, and create a more predictable building experience for homeowners.
Here’s what that means in practice when you work with ModernBilt:

DOCUMENTED PLANS, NOT VERBAL AGREEMENTS
Your project begins with a documented plan, not a verbal agreement. Before any work starts, scope, timeline, budget framework, and key decision points are defined in writing. That documentation protects both sides and helps ensure everyone is working from the same expectations.
PROACTIVE COMMUNICATION
You won’t have to chase us for updates. We establish a communication cadence at the start of every project, including scheduled check-ins, written progress summaries, and access to a client project portal. You’ll have visibility into your project without needing to be on-site or wondering what’s happening next.
PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED EARLY
Problems get identified early, not after they’ve already cost money. Engineers are trained to anticipate failure points before they occur. We apply that same approach to project planning by looking ahead, evaluating risks, and addressing potential issues before they become expensive surprises.
DIRECT ACCOUNTABILITY
You’re working with the people who founded the company, not a sales team that hands you off once the contract is signed. The same people who meet with you, help plan the project, and establish expectations remain involved throughout the construction process.
How we work
These aren’t slogans. They’re the specific commitments we make to every client at the start of every project.
Documented Agreements
We document what we agree to. A verbal understanding is not a scope of work. We put commitments in writing — yours and ours.
Scheduled Communication
We communicate on a schedule. You shouldn’t have to call to find out what’s happening on your project. We establish a regular update rhythm and stick to it.
Realistic Workloads
We take on work we can deliver. We won’t commit to a project we can’t resource properly, and we won’t start construction without a plan that’s ready to execute.
Early Truth
We tell you the truth, early. If your budget and your vision have a gap, we’ll identify it in pre-construction, not mid-build. If there’s a problem on site, you hear it from us first.
Timeline Commitments
We treat your timeline as a commitment. Delays happen in construction. What shouldn’t happen is finding out about one after it’s already affected your schedule. We flag issues as soon as they’re identified, along with a revised path forward.
We’re local. That’s not incidental—it matters.
ModernBilt is based in the Murfreesboro area and focuses its work in Rutherford County,
Wilson County, and surrounding Middle Tennessee communities, including Lebanon, Smyrna, La Vergne, Mount Juliet, and neighbouring areas.
We’re not a regional builder covering a wide geography from a central office. We’re working in the
same communities where we live, and our track record here every project, every client relationship is the foundation of everything we’re building as a company.
If you’re unsure whether your location falls within our current service range, call or send us a note. We’ll give you a direct answer.
